Have just about died walking through the heat of Florence. Stopped at this lovely hotel Lucchesi waiting for the bus to take us back to our hotel in the greenery just outside Florence. We have been walking for 8 hours through the the Uffizi gallery and the Vasari gallery. The Vasari gallery had all the self portraits of hundreds of painters, which was a private tour with just us and one Japanese girl the guide and an official lady. That was a very special treat. The views from the windows over the river were great. Later, on our own, We queued for a while to get into a church until we discovered it was the queue for the climb to the tower!
